Last Friday, the Noida Authority made a significant announcement regarding the proposed metro link between Noida and Greater Noida, revealing the addition of two more metro stations. In a statement following the details about the proposed metro line, officials noted the necessity for these extensions due to the rising population in Greater Noida and along the Expressway. This increase in population prompted the Authority to expand the metro line by adding two stations.
According to the information available, the proposed metro line will span a total of 29.707 km and will incorporate 22 metro stations. The route is set to traverse through several key areas, including Noida Sectors – 32, 51, 83, 101, (https://propertywala.com/victory-ace-noida), 147, and notable spots such as Alpha, Delta, Knowledge Park 2, and Pari Chowk.
While the metro services are scheduled to operate at a speed of 35 km per hour, they have the capability to reach speeds of up to 95 km per hour. In discussing the project, an official from the authority mentioned that the expenses incurred during the metro line's development will be shared between both the Noida and Greater Noida Authorities. Each authority will assume responsibility for costs associated with the line's development within their respective jurisdictions.
The total estimated investment for the project is pegged at Rs. 5,500 Cr. Although a timeline for project completion has not yet been established, officials assured that work will commence promptly.
During the meeting, land acquisition issues were brought to the forefront and various decisions have been made to address these concerns. Notably, the Noida Authority has resolved to grant farmers 5% of developed plots if their land has been acquired after 1976. Likewise, developed land—5% of total parcels—will be allocated to farmers with land holdings between 20 sq. m and 40 sq. m. This initiative aims to enhance the prosperity of the farmers involved.
