National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission; providing great relief to the flat owners of Noida Extension, has stayed the cancellation of flats by a developer.

Proposed flat owners of Noida Extension finally were relieved as National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission stayed the cancellation of their bookings. The commission stayed the cancellation of over 100 flats which were allegedly cancelled by a developer.

It was in last month; leaving the flat owners to stay in distress, a developer cancelled the bookings soon after the Greater Noida Master Plan 2021 was approved by the planning board of NCR. Once the Master Plan got the approval, the construction was resumed in the area.

Distressed home buyers of Noida Extension had approached the commission earlier last month against the private developer who cancelled their bookings.

Hearing the petition filed by the Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association; an umbrella body of the proposed buyers, the commission has sent the developer a notice which order a stay on the cancellation till further orders. The order of the commission stays the cancellation of over 100 flats.

Flat owners of Noida Extension finally saw the light of hope when NCDRC stayed their cancelled bookings.

Mr. Abhishek Kumar, a member in the Noida Extension flat owners’ association, calling the order ‘rays of hope’ said that they will move forward legally. He added that the order will establish order in the area.

The buyers alleged that the builders have been harassing them in many ways. Against this they plan to conduct a protest – meeting on Sunday at Noida Extension which is also known as Greater Noida West.

Since the Master Plan 2021 was approved, the builders have been demanding higher property prices from the buyers. Additionally they are alleged of threatening the buyers for the same.

Against the harassment of the builders, buyers have approached various authorities including Union urban development ministry, CCI and Greater Noida Authority. Some of the buyers had sent complaints to the CREDAI even to solve the issues related to their bookings and cancellations. However, finally justice is given as the cancellations are stayed for a while.
